1st Place at F4R Outdoors/FLW/BFL Tournament
Rod Benders Ray Tripp and Richard Smith went Big Fish Hunting and pull out the win for 1st Place at F4R Outdoors/FLW/BFL Tournament on Lake Lanier 02/18/12. Congratulations to the Champions!!
Our strategies were based on the information gather by the Rod Benders teams during practice the day before the tournament.
This enables us to know several key facts; what baits the fish wanted, where the fish was located and presentation! Richard and I work very well together and communication is the key to our success.
We both make discussions from the co-angler seat as well the angler seat. We knew the larger fish was biting on the lower end of the lake so we did not spend a lot of time up the river. We target main lake points, secondary point and pockets in-between the points. We located a deep secondary rocky point and my first cast I landed a 3lb spotted bass on a carolina rig lizard. 5 casts later Richard landed a 3.5lb spotted bass on a jerk bait. We finished out our limit off this point and I sealed the deal with last keeper 3.7lbs spotted bass! I would like to thank my team members for sharing information during practice, we all are winners!
